Chaotic

I made this little "schedule" for Starla so she can learn the days of the week and what she gets to do each day. She loves waking up in the morning and figuring out what day it is and who she gets to spend it with! Her schedule is so crazy, I wasn't sure how to get her to learn what she was going to do each day, so this seems to be working. Monday she hangs out with nanny, tuesday she has school, wednesday she hangs out with daddy, thursday she has school, friday she hangs out with nanny, saturday is "home" day, and sunday is church!

Things are so busy these days. Thankfully tomorrow is the last day of my UCO class, which has had homework EVERY SINGLE night of the 3 week class!! And I have 5 assignments to do tonight. Sheesh. But then it will be over. Starting next week I get to stay in my student teaching position all day every day, woo hoo! I am really enjoying it. The principal of the school's father is actually my UCO student teaching supervisor, which is a little weird to me, but it's ok. They meet with us once every like 3 weeks to answer questions, watch us teach, gather our homework, etc. I met him monday, he seems ok. He used to be a principal for many years, but is now retired. As a student teacher you either get a professor or a retired teacher/principal as your supervisor. I was kinda hoping for a professor since I would already know them and have a relationship, and not feel like I had to prove myself, but I will live. He is coming to watch me teach on the 16th, and my mentor teacher told me I could do whatever I want. So I am going to do the batteries and lightbulbs investigation that I did in my field experience last year. That way I already have experience with it and know what I am doing. That way I won't be as anxious abut the supervisor observing me. :) So I gotta get all that prepared. Then elements of my 2 weeks unit are due then, so I am working on putting that together as well. Busy, busy, busy.

Not to mention birthday parties! And here is where I know I am stretched too thin. I LOVE planning parties, it brings me so much joy on a normal basis. And right now, I could really care less about putting the parties together, which really kinda makes me sad that I have no joy in it. :( I just have no desire to put together a big party, or get all involved in creating cute things to go with the theme, or any of it. So the kids parties are just gonna be quick and easy. Starla's is at the omniplex, I don't even think I'm gonna do any games or anything. Which would be a first for me, I don't think I've ever had a party without games and prizes. And I usually make separate baby gift bags, but this year we are strapped for cash, and I already have 24 kids 2 and up to supply goody bags for, so unfortunately anyone uder the age of 2 probably won't be getting a goody bag. I figure they aren't really age appropriate anyways. But I feel bad, cuz babies want stuff too!! And I usually make baby bags, but I just can't do it this year. Bourbon has decided he just wants a small shin dig here at the house, not a big party. Which I figure is good on many different levels. First, I hate taking up 2 weekends in a row for people with Starla's and then Bourbon's birthdayt parties, so now people can just come to Starla's and not worry about Bourbon's. And financially as well a physically, it won't be a big deal! He's just gonna have some "big-boy" friends over for some pizza and video games, with a Rock Band theme. Possibly a sleep over. We shall see.

Not only did having to pay for my tuition for school this semester, and then having to pay for my surgery kill us financially, wiping out our savings just about, as both of those were approx. $2,000, but now I have already gotten another $1500 worth of lab related bills from the surgery, and Alan has to replace 5 of his tires on his work truck in order to "sell" it back to company so we can get our own much cheaper work vehicle, which is going to cost $1500. We lease his truck from his companty, and when we figured up the numbers we realized it would make much more sense to just buy us a new truck, sell his van and give the work truck back, and only pay one insurance bill instead of 2, as well as at the end of the term we own a truck, whereas the work delivery truck would be returned since it is just a lease. We would actually save somewhere in the neighborhood of $300-400 a month just by doing this. So we need to do it, but the bakery won't take the truck back without 5 new tires, so we gotta shell out $1500 to do that. So for the time being, we can't spend any money or do much of anything!! It's gonna take us a while to replenish our savings!! Not to mention pay off all of these silly medical bills and such. Fun times.

So life is a bit chaotic and crazy right now!!!
