Fun weekend

Fun weekend....
Current mood: calm
It was such a fun weekend. I didn't really do anything friday night. I watched Bride Wars, which was funny. But other than that, not much!

Saturday we went to ardmore (which I already blogged about, so I'll spare you and not do it again!) and then out to the loony bin. I love the loony bin, it's fun to go watch comedians. And Alan loves to sit right up front where they talk to us and give us a hard time, so that's where we were. This particular show was pretty darn raunchy, rated R. But it was funny. The second guy, right away, pointed at Alan's sandals and said "man, you can't be wearing those sandals man. You need a pedicure!" (Alan's feet are horrible! lol, he really does need to do something with those things. And for the next few minutes he went on and on about Alan's feet, how hairy his toes were, and how he was just going to call Alan Werewolf. So randomly throughout his show, he would point over at Alan and say "how you doin' over ther werewolf?" or ask Alan a question and refer to him as a werewolf. I cracked up. He also gave several other people up front a hard time. This guy next to us was a nerdy type guy, khakis and plaid button up shirt, glasses and typical short haircut. The comedian went on and on about him, how he needed to dress better, and how the guy looked like he wasn't athletic at all, but looked like he sat around and played Xbox all day (which his wife was quick to say yes, that was the case, lol) and how the guy looked like he couldn't dance at all. The comedian was giving advice on how to get women all hot and bothered (their juices marinating as he said, remember it was a rated R show....) and he pointed to the nerdy guy in front and said "alright take notes here, I'm quite sure you've never done this before..." poor guy. Then there was a girl on the other side of us, maybe a little older than me, maybe 40, I don't know. Out with some other girls, and he asked her if she had ever been with a black guy (he was black) and she said no, and he said have you ever thought about it, and she said yes, and he said "are you thinking about it right now?" and she said no. lol. And he was like "ain't no big thing, I'm not thinking about sleeping with you either!" and he gave her a hard time, they said they didn't have a man, and he went on about them not having a man and why and what they needed to do to get a man, etc. It was fun though. The main act was a lady, and she talked to us alot too. I never know what to say, I'm no good when you put me on the spot. She asked if Alan & I were married and I just flashed my ring, and she asked how long, and I looked at Alan so he would answer. (I never really know if we should say we've been together 9 years, or that we've been married for 5 years, yet we have an 8 year old, lol) He answered 5 years, and she said "wow, 5 years eh? Marriage, do you know 50% of them end in divorce?! Tough stuff, but you know what happens to the other 50%? They are stuck together FOREVER! It's a no-win situation!" lol. She was funny. Right when she came out she said "wow you guys made me feel so welcome that I feel like I could just jump off stage and you would catch me!" and then she looked at me and said "yeah, except you just looked at me like "Yeah, try it bitch." . lol. So later I clapped and hollared for her about something, I don't even remember what it was and she pointed at me and said "see there! You wanted to hurt me when I started, and now you like me!" Hee hee. It was fun times, I like to laugh.

And even though I cheated on my diet Sat. by having a couple pieces of candy and some bites of an ice cream sundae, I still lost 1.4 lbs that day, and added all together for this week thus far it is up to 6.2 lbs. Which is crazy! Not even a full week until tomorrow, AND the first 2 days were 'gorge' days, so I didn't even start losing until the 3rd day! I have to admit, after I indulged in a little sugar, all my cravings went away and I wasn't going crazy wanting a bunch of food. So maybe that's actually the key to my success. Every few days I just need to indulge a little, tiny bit. And it won't be so hard to stick with it. I'm not as hungry between meals either. And I added green tea to my daily beverages, to mix it up a little. I was getting tired of just water and regular tea. I feel like I drink a gallon every few hours!! lol. But it keeps my belly full. Right now I am drinking a caramel vanilla hot tea, which is 0 calories, so it's not cheating, it's just tea, which I am allowed! and it is sooo yummy! So when I get a cracving for sweets I can always drink this. I'm figuring out how to make it work, slowly but surely. I still will be happy when my phentermine gets here!! I have to call tomorrow and figure out where the heck it is......

A whole week of adventures awaits us starting tomorrow. I love the summer time.

Road trip to Ardmore

We headed out on our mini-road trip to Ardmore at about 11am saturday morning. We decided to make a pit stop at the Bedre chocolate factory in Paul's Valley, we had been there before!

yum! Yes, I cracked and had some candy. But amazingly it wasn't chocolate! I got some of those old fashioned jelly candies, like the orange slices covered in sugar? Except they had thin little slices, like a lemon slice on an iced tea, and they had watermelon, lemon, lime and orange. So I had one of each..... so much for sticking to my diet, eh?! (I did also buy myself some chocolate, but I took it home and stashed it in the freezer for after my diet..... hee hee)

We got to Ardmore and watched Trevor. We thought we would go check out this doll museum and another historical museum in Ardmore while we were there, but we eneded up hanging out with Trevor for 2 1/2 hours instead and then just headed home. We picked out 4 paintings, and it seemed like just as he got one of ours done, someone would come by and want it, so I would let them take it and said we could wait for another! So we stayed for a while! It was warm, but it was fun!

His mom works at the Interurban restaraunt there and so they were doing to fundriaser outside of it, under a tent. He had been featured on channel 9 news the night before, so lots of people saw it and came to check it out. There was a couple from Edmond who came out while we were there.

Trevor has a little sister, Tori, who is the same age as Starla, so they had fun together!

He does such cool things. We had such a good time just sitting around watching him and chit-chatting with his family. They were so nice, they pulled up chairs for us under the tent and offered us pizza that Interurban had been feeding them for free that day. We had stopped and had a picnic lunch before we got there, but that didn't stop either of the kids from eating a piece of pizza, lol.

Starla lounges around.....

working on Roman's picture...

Starla, red-faced and happy! She got kinda tired and grumpy, since we stayed way past her nap time. So I took them inside to get some drinks and ice cream while we waited for Trevor to finish our paintings. Yes, I cracked again and helped Starla eat her mini hot fudge sundae! Sigh, I had been doing so good up until this day!! lol

Roman loved watching him work, and now wants to learn how to do spray paint art!

We packed up at about 3:30pm and headed home.

My mom wanted a picture, so she picked out the 3 crosses one from over the phone, I bet she didn't realize how awesome it would be when she got it!

Roman got the creepy eye pic, lol. He wanted a red eye as well, as if it wasn't creepy enough. :)

Starla got a mommy & baby elephant pic for her room

We got Bourbon the star wars pic

It was lots of fun! Then the kids got to go to my moms for the night while Alan & I went out to the loony bin comedy club.

I'm glad to report, that even though I cheated on my diet, I still managed to lose 1.4 lbs that day!! Sweet! :)

If you are interested in getting some pics from Trevor, or just checking him out, here is his info:

The good ol' summertime....

The good ol' summertime....
Current mood: nostalgic
I love the summer. Today we went to the zoo for a bit, and then just had a lazy day at home. The boys had water fights with neighborhood kids (and parents!) and Roman got ice cream from the ice cream man and I am reminded of carefree summer days as a kid and it makes me smile. I hope my kids have fond memories of their summers.

I really want to go camping soon!! Before it gets too hot. It's been relatively mild lately, and I want to take advantage of that! But, Alan works on Sat. mornings, so he will have to meet up with us on Saturday. Which means I have to have others to go camping with, I'm not crazy enough to take 3 kids by myself. Not to mention I'm such a girly girl when it comes to putting up tents and making fires. Last year we took my sis-in-law and her family, and her husband got to do all the manly things. Alan didn't come at all then. We have land on this private resort near arkansas, called Flint Ridge. It takes about 3 hours to get there, but it's so worth it. They have 2 pools, tennis courts, golf, minature golf, and several lakes, creeks that are great for crawdad catching and canoe trips down the illinois river. They have cabins and such, but I like to tent camp. It's not super fancy, it's a bit run-down, but I love. I have been going there with my family sine I was wabout 8 or 9. Back then my grandparents, and several aunts and uncle owned land and we would all go there and have just rows of trailers and tents. However, it got down to where everyone sold off their land (you can only use the resort if you own land there) except my parents. And even they stopped using it, but I continued to bring my friends and go as a teen and young adult. My parents wanted to sell it, since they decided they liked Eufaula (sp?) instead and bought land there. I begged them not to, because I loved it there. And instead they gave the ladn to me for my 21st birthday. So now we try to go at least once a year, but I'd really like to go more. This year it would be nice to go once with the kids and once without. Or at least without Starla. It's hard keeping a 2 year old happy and entertained!! It's exhausting work sometimes. Anyways, so there is an open invitation if anyone wants to come camping in the next few weeks, let me know! That means I may need help with my tent and firewood though, hee hee.

So today I lost 2.8 lbs from yesterday morning to this morning. Which is crazy, but it says the first week you may lost quite a bit and then it will round off to about a lb a day. But it's NO fun! If it doesn't get any easier, I don't know if I'm going to make it!! I'm hungry, and cranky and tired. I just want to eat. And since I prepare meals and snacks for 4 other people, food which I can't touch, it gets pretty hard. And I want to break out my cookbooks and try new summer recipes, and bake cookies and make lemonaid and watermelon coolers. It feels like my world revolves around food, and it has to stop in order to stick to this diet. There's no summer BBQ's or dinner parties with friends, no date nights out to eat, no mommies lunches, no popcorn at the movies or ice cream on hot days. Sigh. Tomorrow night Alan & I are going to the loony bin for date night, and there's a 2 drink minimum per person, and I can't even drink anything but water, unsweetened tea and coffee! sigh. I may have been overshooting for 40 days, lol, I might have to do 20 days......I think I can, I think I can....

Day 4

Thursday, May 28, 2009
Day 4
Current mood: moody
So today was my 2nd 500 calorie day, and it's no fun. In theory it gets better, but we'll see.... I ordered phentermine to go along with the HCG drops, but it hasn't gotten here yet, and I didn't want to wait to start the diet, but maybe I should have waited! Phentermine is an appetite supressant.

I love food. I love cooking it, celebrating with it, sitting around and having a family dinner..... I love all aspects of food. Which is probably why I am overweight to begin with. I'm an emotional eater, but not just when I'm sad or upset; I eat when I'm happy, I eat when I'm mad, lol. I eat for all reasons. Did I mention that I love food? Sigh. And i know at least half of it is pyschological. The first 2 'gorge' days, where I was supposed to eat as much fatty foods as possible, it was to the point where I didn't even want to look at food, nothing sounded good, I didn't want anything. Fast forward to the next day when I only get 500 calories, and suddenly I want EVERYTHING! And I have very little self-control. So this will be interesting. I keep telling myself "It's only 40 days, you can do anything for 40 days, you can eat whatever you want later....."

see the HCG drops that I am taking, tell your brain to use your stored fat as a food source, not muscles or neccesary fat, but stored fat that you don't need. And in theory your bosy call pull anywhere from 1500-4000 calories just from your stored fat in one day to use as an energy supply. So when I eat an additional 500 calories, I'm really getting at least 2000, so my body isn't starving. But my stomach isn't used to not being filled, so it thinks I'm hungry!! And in the process I burn up my stored fat, at approx. a pound a day. In theory the HCG is supposed to eventually make me feel like I'm not hungry, once it fully gets into my system. I sure hope thats the case, because I am hungry. I did lose one full pound, not an ounce more, not an ounce less from yesterday morning to this morning. So maybe it will work. We shall see. You have to be on it for a tleast 20 days, and the max is 40 days. I'm going for the gold, if I make it..... also in theory this "fixes" your metabolism, and as long as you don't go crazy and eat everything in site, this is supposed to be a "cure" and you won't have to keep doing it once you reach your goal weight. But again, all of this is in theory. I've tried just about every diet out there, so of course I'm skeptical. Not skeptical enough not to try it obviously.

So what does a 500 calorie day look like you ask? Yesterday it was:
Breakfast: 1 cup of coffee w/ 1 tbs milk & sweet & low
Lunch: 4 oz shrimp, cooked with 2 cups of spinach & garlic, a piece of melba toast (basically a cracker) and a handful of strwberries
Dinner: a 4 oz hamburger pattie cooked with 1 cup of vadalia onions, a piece of melba toast and an apple

today it was:
Breakfast: 1 cup of coffee w/ 1 tbs milk & sweet & low
Lunch: 4 oz of tuna with 2 cups of cucumbers, a piece of melba toast and an orange
Dinner: 4 ozs of baked chicken with 2 cups of asparagus, a piece of melba toast and an apple.

I pretty much get my choice of 4 oz of any meat, anywhere from 1 to 2 cups of certain veggies (depending on the veggie) , a piece of melba toast, and my choice out of an apple, orange, strawberries or a grapefruit for 2 meals in a day. I get all that I want of tea, coffee and water, but no sugar. I can use 1 tbs of milk a day, and I can use almost all spices.

And of course all I want is the homemade beer bread sitting on my kitchen counter, and the ice cream in my freezer (of which I watched my thin husband consume 2 big mugs of this afternoon, sometimes I wish we could trade metabolisms), the popcorn I just made Starla, or a big tall glass of milk with oreos.......sigh. But of course all of those things are what got me in this mess to begin with.

I think I can, I think I can.......

Day 1

Day 1
Current mood: chill
So today I started my new HCG diet, but no big deal for today & tomorrow, since these are "gorge" days, where you are supposed to consume as much fatty foods as possible. I know, weird, right? But in theory this helps you not be hungry for the remaining time that you are on the 500 calories. I am going to do it for 40 days (the max time you are supposed to do it without a break). So do me a favor and no one invite me out for lunch, dinner, ice cream, lol, etc. for the next 40 days! I can resist anything but temptation..........

I'm not sure I am doing a great job at eating a ton of fatty foods. After watching what I eat forever, it's weird for me to eat a bunch of crap. That and I get full really fast, and then I feel queasy after eating fatty foods since I've scrapped them from my diet for so long. But that doesn't mean that I won't enjoy my hot fudge sundae that I am going to make myself here in a bit.......

I have devoured 2 books in the last 48 hours. And probably will start a new one tonight. I just got done reading "Running with Scissors" which is a memoir, and has been made into a movie. I might just have to check the movie out now. This guy had one twisted and messed up life. Why are we so interested in people's lives that are so screwed up? Are we just trying to make ourselves feel better about our own?! lol. I'm thinking about reading the Vampire Chronicles (Anne Rice) again, it's been YEARS since Ive read them, but then again it's so hard to read old books when I have such a huge pile of new ones that I've not touched. I have plenty to keep me busy this summer. Even if I read 3 books a week, I think I have enough to read all new books this summer. I own entirely too many books, if there could be such a thing. Now I need to hurry up and write my own.......

The joy of road trips

I love road trips, especially ones that lead you into remote little towns with old-timey storefronts, apothecarys, mom & pops diners, and stuff like that. We did one leg of the Route 66 trip a couple of summers ago, where we started at the round barn in arcadia and made our way to see the blue whale, and the concrete teepees, and ended at a 50's diner in tulsa. We need to go the other way next time. I always want to do those road trips where you stop to see the biggest ball of twine, or silly stuff like that. I think those kind of experiences are rich with life. There's always fun stuff you can find on the side of the road.

We went to a fish fry this weekend at my in-laws in Duncan. They had caught a bunch of fish and had fmaily over to enjoy, it was nice. We take the road trip to duncan quite regularly, just a 90 mile drive, nothing big. But we go through little towns, like Rush springs; watermelon capital of the world. :) I always say we need to go to the watermelon festival there in august, yet we never make it, maybe we will this year. Anyways, quite a bit back, on Highway 81 on the way there, just on the side of the road at someones house, this dinosaur made out of a trailer and other scraps popped up. And then every few times we went by, something new had joined it! I always said I wanted to stop and take pics, but it kind if snuck up on you, around a corner, and I never seemed to see it in time to really stop. But this time I was thinking about it before we got to it, so I was on the look out for it. And we stopped. I swear everytime we go by now there is something new there! It's so much fun!

Some of my favorite flowers are wildflowers.

I love going on road trips in the spring and summer, because there are such beautiful patches of wildflowers along the roads! There are some spots on the way to duncan that have just a rainbow of wildflowers in the patch between the highways; purple, white, blue, pink, red, orange, yellow. It is an amazing sight. Unfortunately it's hard to take a pic of those places from a moving car, so this is what was around the place that we stopped. Not quite as colorful, but pretty all the same.

while we were stopped, Roman picked me a flower. Such a sweet kid.

It had to go in my hair! I love flowers in my hair.

Atht e fish fry, the boys caught some critters. Roman got a lizard and Bourbon got a toad. The lizard was lost before we made it home, and the toad was released today. :)

Better than sex cake

Yum, this cake is sooooo yummy. I made it for a fish fry this weekend at the in-laws house. I have had various versions of this cake, this particular recipe came from a Paula Deen cookbook. I love her.

Better Than Sex? Yes!

one chocolate cake mix
14 oz can sweetened codensed milk
6 oz jar caramel or hot fudge topping
8 ozs cool whip
4 skor candy bars crushed (can also use heath, butterfinger, or just about any kind of candy that you like!)

Prepare cake according to directions and bake in a 9 X 13 inch pan. Pierce warm cake all over with a toothpick. Pour milk over cake. Pour caramel over cake. Chill. Before serving, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with crushed candy

This cake is sooo rich, you gotta have a big glass of milk to go with it!

The Gretchen Wilson Show

Jamie & I before the show. We were in the "VIP" section that had seats, and the general admission people were fenced off behind us without seats.

First came Cowboy Troy. I don't think I have ever heard a song of his before this night. He's a black rapping cowboy, which was TOTALLY entertaining, lol. It was definitely different, that's for sure. :) Although we got up and clapped and such, no one left their chairs during this time.

His band was called The Nashvillains, lol, and this guy came straight from the hair rocker days I think. he was whipping his hair all around in circles, and jamming out, pretty darn amusing.

He cracked me up!

About 5 minutes or so before Gretchen came out, everyone who had been happily sitting in their seats, suddenly rushed to the front of the stage. I of course followed suit, and was right up front. Jamie had flip flops on, and had her feet stepped on twice in a matter of seconds, and decided she would rather go back to her seat and watch the show. :) I wore a new pair of sandals that were killing my feet, but I was willing to tough it out.

The show was amazing!! She is so much fun!

She rocked out!

He was awesome!

I couldn't decide which of her guitarists I liked more!!

She puts on an amazing show

drinking Jack straight from the bottle, a girl after my own heart, lol :)

I'm pretty sure this was her daughter Grace who got to come out and help her shoot T-shirts to the audience.

I loved both of these guys, they were so much fun to watch! They did this montage of songs while she took a little break, they played everything from nirvana, ozzy, metallica, to pink floyd and just about everything in between! It was amazing, and so much fun!!

Gretchen salutes as she is about the leave the stage! So sad that it's over!!

Me & Jamie after the show!

I'm so glad that I got to go!!

Gretchen Wilson
Current mood: rockin

I am so excited about seeing her in concert tomorrow night!! I don't think theres a song of hers that I don't absolutley love. She cracks me up, makes me smile, and say "Amen sister!" with her songs!

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas

Burt Reynolds & Dolly Parton Sing
Current mood: amused

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. That was my all-time favorite movie starting at age 5, lol. Most kids watched disney flicks over and over, I watched this, mesmerized by Dolly Parton. I had no clue what the heck a whorehouse was, I just liked all the pretty girls dancing and singing and wearing PJ's and lots of lace, lol. I would go around singing all of the songs. Looking back when I was older and knew what was going on, I thought "Seriously? Maybe that wasn't the best choice my parents could make, to let me watch this as a 5 year old....lol"

I love Dolly Parton & Burt Reynolds!

Now tell me, what little girl wouldn't love Dolly Parton, she's like a princess! Can you imagine a 5 year old little girl going around singing this song all the time....cuz that was me, lol.

Spray Paint Artist

I went to my special Ed class last week to watch a a 13 year old spray paint artist with aspergers. The news 9 guy was there to watch too. Trevor was awesome, and it was soo good for these kids to see someone "like them" doing something productive and wonderful with his life, to let them know no matter what, they can do whatever they put their minds to. :)

This is Katie. I was so drawn to her! She has autism. She went from not acknowledging me at all, to barely looking me in the eyes when I talked to her, to getting excited when I got to class and waving and smiling at me! Melted my heart. I'm gonna miss her.

I let Katie take pictures with my camera, she was fascinated with it. This is Tyler, who sits next to her. He has Autism too, and is very resistant to change. He wouldn't hardly look at me much less talk to me, and would cover up his paper and look away from my direction if I came by to help him, lol.

Katie liked taking pictures. :)

The special Ed class gathered around the watch Trevor. It was very cool to watch!

He was amazing!

Trevor watched a street artist doing it in Texas while they were on vacation, and decided he wanted to do it. They researched it for almost a year before finding a guy in California that agreed to teach him. Trevor & his mom went there for about a week or so and he took all day classes everyday with the artist, and learned how. He has been doing it for about 2 years now. He has an opportunity to go to a special art camp this summer, but it costs $4000. So they have been doing fundraisers. He has a fundraiser in Ardmore on Sat May 30th all day, where he will be selling his paintings ($20). I think I am going to take the kids out there and let them watch him, may a day trip out of it, I think they will enjoy it! Plus I want to help Trevor get to camp! :)

Hammies

Yum, these things are soooooo good. We had them last time we went to my scrapbook retreat. She put the recipe in her cookbook too, so I am sharing it with you guys. They are super easy, super yummy, and feed quite a few people, so it's perfect for entertaining or having friends/family over this summer!

Hammies

Package of potato rolls
sliced deli ham
baby swiss cheese

Sauce:
2 tbs mustard (I use honey mustard!)
4 tbs brown sugar
2 tbs poppy seeds
2 stickes of butter (this is why it's so good....lol)
1 tbs of worcestershire sauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook sauce in a pan until melted and becomes thick. Place desired amount of ham and cheese inside each potato roll. Place sandwiches in a deep dish pan and pour sauce over the rolls. For best results set in refrigerator overnight, however if time doesn't permit they should soak for at least an hour. Bake for 20 minutes covered with foil, and 10 minutes uncovered. Serve warm!

I'm telling you, these are soooooo good. I made them for dinner last night, and there were 12 sandwiches and we only had 2 for leftovers, lol. My family likes them.

What a beautiful day......

Sunday, May 17, 2009
What a beautiful day,.....
Current mood: fabulous
I hope we have some more days like this, where it is beautiful but not too hot. Oklahoma is famous for going from cold to 100+ degree weather with very little mild stuff in between. Today was a perfect day. I managed to get a bit of a sunburn! Oh well.

The Lion King show was fantastic!! Amazing props and costumes!! It is a must see if you can make it anytime. I'm not sure the boys were as impressed as I was, and Alan about fell asleep, but I enjoyed it!!!

I just got done putting together all of the summer packs that I bought for the special ed kids. I am going to deliver them tomorrow. I got them workbooks, arts & crafts stuff, books, etc. To keep them stiumlated during the summer. I'm gonna miss those kids. I may post a blog with pics of them if I get around to it tonight, or maybe tomorrow. I have video of the 13 year old spray paint artist I want to put up, he was awesome.

I start back to the gym tomorrow, with the goal of going every M-W-F morning. I love the gym, but it's getting back into a routine. I had to stop forever ago because Starla wouldn't stay in the nursery, they would call me to come get her within like 10 minutes. She just wouldn't stay anywhere at that time. Then school started and I didn't have time. Always something. But I'm hoping that since Starla does so well at church now, that she will do ok there. And starting next week, the boys will be in there with her, so she will be fine then I'm sure. But I want to start this week. I love the elliptical machine, so getting my cardio in isn't a problem. Then I gotta figure out what weight machines I need to do and such. Hopefully, hitting the gym again will help me with my goal of losing 30 lbs this summer. That and I ordered my new diet drop stuff that my friend Amiee & Courtney both did. You are limited to 500 calories a day, so we will see if I can pull it off. But they both had such good results with it, that I want to try. Wish me luck!

Roman had a fever all weekend, but it has been gone today, so hopefully the rest of us don't get it and pass it all around. Fingers crossed.

I am dying to go out and have fun, I don't know what the deal is. I just want to go out, dancing, singing, drinking, I don't even care, I just want to be out and about!!! I almost went out with my friends Mike & Quinn friday to the gay bar, but since Roman was sick I stayed home and tended to him. But I was tempted to go out once everyone was in bed! Alan went to sleep at 5pm that night, no joke, and was out for the night. Not that I can blame him, because he gets up at 3am, and he sometimes works 70+ hours in a week. But he's usually asleep or at work. So the likelihood of him getting to go out, is slim. So I'm just gonna have to find some friends that want to go out, and go! Wait for the family to be in bed, and sneak out for the night! Like a teenager. I might even go see my brother at work (The Red Dog) which I haven't been to in AGES, lol. Just to have someplace to go and someone there to hang out with! It's always kinda interesting to watch the ladies play in the cage up there, I'm always waiting for one to fall when they hang upside down from their heels....

The coolest fairy ever!!

This fairy was awesome!!! I wanted to take her home. :)

The Scarborough Faire

I had such a wonderful Mother's Day in Texas. The Scarborough Faire was GREAT!! My kids made me such cute and wonderful gifts, and I got some fuzzy feety socks, a Dolly Parton CD, and a jingly gypsy anklet from the faire! I am spoiled!!

Jamie was in Texas visiting her step-mom anyways, so she met us at the hotel sunday morning and went with us to the faire. Yeah!

First things first, we had to pose for pictures! Jamie & Me

Ah, aren't we sweet.

Jamie duels Bourbon with the safe swords

Alan plays with the weapons. He had been wanting a kilt for years and years, so back when the medieval fair was in town in april I bought him one for father's day. But since I thought going to the scarborough fair would be a perfect time to wear it, I went ahead and gave it to him. He was happy.

I loved this fairy. She gave Starla some fairydust and a fairy stone.

The boys ride in a medieval thrill ride

Starla makes friends with a dragon

Daddy & Starla on a boat swing/ride

I want an outfit like this...

My new sign......

In the petting zoo

The 3 boys threw knives and chinese stars into the walls. Hey, didn't the dr's say Alan shouldn't be around sharp objects.........

These ladies were awesome, dancing with swords balanced on their heads!

This leprechaun pointed to me and said "Punks not dead, 1983 punk scene, you know, you were there!" lol, I said "Um, I was 5, but I was there." So glad leprechauns think that I am a punk......

The boys getting sword fighting lessons

My family (but notice who's on the throne....that's right.... :) )

Alan tests out his strength.....

The scary dungeon, Bourbon said no way, so he waited with Starla, Jamie & I while Roman & Alan went through it. Alan said Roman kept his hands over his face and ears the entire time, lol.

Jamie & Starla as we are leaving the faire....goodbye Scarborough faire!! We'll be back!!
