Bailey's Berry Patch

Thursday morning I woke the kids up before the sun came up, and we were on our way to Texas by 6am to go pick blueberries at Bailey's Berry Patch! Our buddy Stew had stayed the night and joined us.

We got there just a bit after 9am, trying to avoid the extreme heat of the day, but it was still sooooo very hot! We stayed there until about 11:30am.

So many big ripe berries! They have just rows and rows of berry bushes, all of them bursting with ripe, luscious berries!!

The boys found this spider in one of the bushes, and Roman took several pics of him.

Look at all those berries! We were hard at work....

We had to have some of their amazing Blueberry lemonade, it is SOOO yummy!

It was HOT!! We were sweating! But nothing ice cream can't fix....

And of course we had to stop at Dairy Queen for lunch. My kids LOVE Dairy Queen. Except Starla kept calling it Berry King.... lol

The "toy" in the kids meal was a map of texas and stickers...how perfect for my kiddos!

I've already made a lemon bluberry trifle, and a bluberry coffee cake. I have grand plans of blueberry bread pudding and bluberry french toast bake. I froze about half of them though, and at some point I will probably make some blueberry jam.....
