The week in review

Friday evening Alan & I got to go out on a date night to a concert at the Zoo Amphiteater....

To see

Buddy Guy

Al Green

and BB King

It was a great show!

Monday we went to the farm....

We had just recently purchased a very large amount of meat from the Oklahoma Food Co-op, enough to cook dinner every night for at least a month if not longer. We stored all of this meat in the deep freeze in the utility room. While we were out at the concert at the zoo and my mom was over watching the kiddos, Bourbon got it in his head that he wanted to pull out some meat to cook (which although he helps cook in the kitchen, he doesn't have the know how to pull out some random meat from the freezer and to know what to do with it, so what the heck he was thinking in the first place is beyond me) well in the process he left the freezer door slighly ajar. We didn't get back in there until saturday night after noticing the water coming out of the bottom of the freezer. Thankfully everything wasn't totally ruined, and we were able to get most of it back to a frozen state quickly, but about 35 lbs of chicken and 5 lbs of pork chops were completely thawed and had to be used. So this week we have eaten LOTS of chicken. Cheesy chickn & rice, Chicken quesadilla casserole, chicken pot pie.....

we did get a brief reprieve from chicken wednesda night when we had pork chops, but then it's back to chicken until it's all gone.

Having a girl is like having a giant barbie doll.....hee hee

Bourbon & I signed up to work the concession stand tonight from 6p-8pm during the first football games of the season. This is how the band raises money. It was fun, but about an hour into our shift a giant storm broke loose, so we had to just hang out and the football game was delayed until it was over.

the storm left behind a double rainbow! Look closely at the top of the one rainbow and you will see the faint outline of another....

The sky was just amazing after the storm....

Work this week was great, and all my time away fromwrok has been spent trying to get things ready for Starla's birthday party! It's gonna be so much fun. It better not rain though......

Next week Karate starts back up and Starla starts dance!! Life is always busy in our household. :)
