My Altered book

You might remember that I took an Altered Book class at the OKC museum a while back, and I showed you a bit of it here. Well here is the finished project. I wanted it to be a book infused with me and my personality. Perhaps to be an heirloom that my kids will want one day, a peice of art that represents me.

The outside has a couple of my favorite fairy artworks, and words to represent my love of words and books, and stars and pretty baubles and buttons that make me smile.

It just sits on a shelf and is a work of art. :)

This is my smashing pumpkins page. I love the pumpkins.

The page on the right is actually the paper cover of the book I used to make this. I loved the colors and pictures on it, so I wanted to use it. So this spread is about my wish to travel to far-away lands someday, to see the wonders of the world.

This one I just really liked the maps already on the pages of the book and just wanted to build around that theme. Kinda an international theme I guess.

This page has some more smashing pumpkins art, but It's more a tribute to my love of fantasy worlds. ALL of my favorite movies and books revolve around one theme it seems, an ordinary person traveling to a fantasy world; Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter, The Never-ending story, Labrynth.

during the class they showed us a book with a ripped half-page and I liked how it looked, so I did one in my book. My favorite color is green, so I was going to do a green theme here, but then started throwing other things in there too, so now it is more about glittery, girly stuff. :)

My victorian era page. I love both the victorian era and medieval times, but it was easier to find victorian stuff. :)

I love Jack and Sally. :)

the last page pays tribute to my love of baking. It is all pink and colorful and perky, lol, nothing quite like the rest of the book.
