The new salon is amazing! It is giant inside, and they have an arcade, and The Vintage store is located in the back! The Vintage has wonderful old clothes and stuff.
My friend Mike went with me. We both left our men at home, lol. (Sorry Alan & Quinn that you guys couldn't go with us!)
When we fist got there we went in and checked out the band playing.
These guys were awesome!! They played some great music!
These ladies did a cute little dance number before the fashion show started
The fashion show was fun! I had never been to a fashion show before! I loved all of the different outfits and hairdos! Even on just the people there, not just the models!!
We asked this guy if we could take a pic of his car, and he posed for us, lol
They had some cool cars out there on display! I guess they come out every 2nd friday of each month! The entire strip has like a block party. All of the shops were open and featured some sort of entertainment, and there were bands set up on the side walk, and people selling stuff out of tents on the side-walk. It was fun! They are on NW 17th & classen. It is a neat little district.
Estrella & me. She's the talented lady that does my hair! She's awesome.(and she's the owner of the Velvet Monkey salons!)
Mike & Me, we had such a good time!
We walked up and down the little row of shops. We found this artsy little store that had really neat stuff in it, but it was a bit expensive. Then we found this "grannies bazaar" store, that was awesome!! It was like finding old treasures at a garage sale or something, lol. I collect tea cups, and they had this old set of like 4 cups, 4 saucers and 2 serving platters for only $4!! So I got it. I want to go back, because they had some REALLY neat stuff. And tons of records for like $1 or $2 if records are your thing (they are Alan's!)
We tried on hats at the Bazaar. hmmm.... not sure it's my style :)
Mike looks good in a hat!
After we explored all that we could, we went to The Park, a gay club, so Mike could have a mixed drink instead of just beer (that's all they served at the salon and from the vendors on the street!) We chit-chatted with his friends, watched the stripper dance a bit, lol, and then headed on our way. It was fun times!
